Hello all! My name is DrkNinja, but you can call me Ninja for short!
I am a casual/competitive EDH player, my play group is casual but I am very competitive, who is constantly challenging myself by building something new or developing interesting EDH deck concepts. I do occassionally play 60 card formats, but I have realized that EDH decks only have to change if a card from the newest set is good for it, whereas Modern and Standard are everchanging.
As to why I don't play Legacy/Vintage... well... I just think it's too boring, not much variation or creativty when being competitive.
I play Magic as a way to exercise my brain in both the deck building process as well as gameplay.
Aside from challenging me intellectually, Magic offers an amazing community (T/O Being prime example) to make friends in and be apart of something grandiose.
It's also just a great way for my friends, Fiance, and I to connect and have some fun every weekend!
Magic, has been a bastion of fun and intellectual challenge since I was 12 in my freshman year of high school where I was converted from playing Yu-Gi-Oh! to this great game.
As of right now that makes 13 years of playing the game.
My first deck was ironically a Starter deck from Coldsnap that had Ripple 4 as it's main gimmick and Darien, King of Kjeldor
