Primer Under Construction

After some testing of my original blitz aggro build I found it too be too much of a glass cannon. When it worked it worked quite well, but there were far too many times where it didn't. This latest iteration adapts a more controlled, stax approach to leverage Winota's ability to generate huge advantage through digging and subsequently playing human's for free regardless of their mana cost.

The card selection in this new build is quite a bit more specific, as I wanted each non-human to have a decent impact on the battlefield, and each human to have a role to play so I was starting to snowball from the very first Winota trigger.

This current approach is inspired by video on cEDH Cast Youtube Channel Check them out. They got some cool stuff.

There is one important aspect of the mechanics and rules of the game involving Winota and her ability that makes this deck far harder to deal with than it might at first appear. This is something I was not even aware of until I looked over the cEDH Cast video and decklist.

Essentially Winota's ability triggers and resolves to put the creature onto the battlefield before priority is ever passed to an opponent so they can have a chance to respond or cast spells themselves. This is important because if a card like Grand Abolisher is cheated in by Winota it enters play and takes effect before anyone can do anything about it. So even if your opponents had an instant they wanted to play on your end step they suddenly can't because Grand Abolisher says no if its your turn.

This works with every human she cheats into play. So start snowballing into some stax and watch them squirm because they can't do anything to stop it from hitting the field.

Win conditions include some Kiki-Jiki/Splinter Twin combos.

There is also a compact and entertaining line involving Goblin Recruiter and Conspicuous Snoop. Any time I can use goblins to kill my opponents is a win in my book.
