The Ur-Dragon, the true unstoppable force of the EDH kingdom. Fear is any understatement to his followers allegiance! Power, strength and community are the key to his success. This is a preview into what makes this families' bond unbreakable!

ARTIFACTS:

Mana rocks are important to the early game with such a high avg CMC. Here are a few rocks that have been inserted into the 99:

CREATURES:

1.) Slumbering Dragon: Everytime you come to your uncle's house he's sleeping because he works too much, but he provides for his family and will do anything for them.

2.) Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury: That overly fiery, impulsive cousin who somehow gets you fired up when he is around.

3.) Dromoka, the Eternal: Tough, giving and defender of the weak cousin who cares dedicates a lot their time helping others.

4.) Stormbreath Dragon: You know that crazy aunt Janet that blows up on you for no reason and somehow is still married, well here is the dragon carnation of her.

5.) Thundermaw Hellkite: That overly flirtatous significant other who just was too much, too often.

6.) Dragonlord Ojutai: Wisdom is her every word and grace is her footstool. She is one of the nicest people you know. This is family member.

7.) Scalelord Reckoner: Kevin is his name, danger is his game. Living on the edge, holding nothing back, pushing the limits of himself.

8.) Wasitora, Nekoru Queen: Your "doesn't like anyone but you" cat who isn't afraid to express how it feels towards you and anyone else.

9.) Ramos, Dragon Engine: That grandpa who enjoys cooking a feast for his family for every holiday that comes around. You always leave stuffed from his events.

10.) Dragonlord Kolaghan: Your fiery gym coach who used to be a martial artist in his past life. Those who test his patience, find out the hard way.

11.) Silumgar, the Drifting Death: Your pack smoking, alcohol-drinking, always flirting uncle who is as tough as nails, but can't hold his liquor.

12.) Dragonlord Dromoka: She is unrelenting, kind, forgiving, protective and most of all always there when you need her. For most we call her: mom.

13.) Hellkite Tyrant: That cousin you hang with but are afraid to give any money to because he might spend it on 'fun' things and not bill he's late on. There's your sign!

14.) Scourge of the Throne: Your crazy ex-girlfriend!

15.) Intet, the Dreamer: The intellectual 2nd cousin who plays chess, graduated from college at 18 and knows a little too much.

16.) Dragon Broodmother: Your aunt who has eight children and constantly doing things with them.

17.) Atarka, World Render: Your strict church-going grandmother who will cook you anything oyu want one minute and discipline you the next for cursing in her presence.

18.) Dragonlord Atarka: You know your mom who is always over the top and embarrassing you, but at the end of the day, she is your mom and does what she does because she loves you. This may be her!

19.) Balefire Dragon: Your father-in-law that when you met for the first time, you crapped your pants on before that first date. Now, you respect more than fear him.

20.) Ojutai, Soul of Winter: He love taps other creatures or opponents with the help of his brothers and sisters! Then there's, crazy uncle Utvara Hellkite who brings the rest of the family with him and then we get crunk!

21.) Utvara Hellkite: Grandpa is in the house and he's got the whole family coming to town if you are not careful. Don't let his old age and simplistic demeanor fool you. He still can kick your *ss if your not careful.

  • Birds of Paradise: The best bird in the game, period!

  • Bloom Tender: Value Town! Up to WRGBU in value. Can't ask for anything better!

  • Lotus Cobra: In a five-color, being able to produce the right colors are important and this snake does this job very well. With 6 fetch lands in the deck and 38 total lands, there are plentoy of opportunities to get value out of each land drop.

  • Selvala, Heart of the Wilds: She synergizes perfectly with Samut getting the ramp train churning! CHOO CHOO!

  • Dragonspeaker Shaman: Cheap dragon spells = quicker games!

  • Oracle of Mul Daya: A staple because no other creature does what it does at the cost that it does as fast as it does. Oracle is eternal in my eyes.

  • Xenagos, God of Revels: Punching people in the face since February 7 2014!!! Feel the pleasure of being the same room as power.

  • Maelstrom Wanderer: double cascade and anthem haste on a 7/5 body, I'll take it!

ENCHANTMENTS:

  • Nature's Will: during combat, you take what you are duely owed and watch. No responding, post-combat or EOT shenanigans!

  • Asceticism: psuedo-hexproof and regeneration at a cost of 1.

  • Dragon Tempest: Bring all the dragons to the party so we can light the sky up with flames of fury!

  • Aggravated Assault: Beating the opponent(s) to a pulp, 3 at a time.

  • Frontier Siege: a two mode based siege that it mostly used as a mana-producer, but also has the option of a fighting cage. ;)

  • Mirari's Wake: A Selesnya EDH staple that screams value. Always good to have and a strong card to search for in the mid-game when you need to close the game out quicker.

  • Aura Shards: The best artifact/enchantment removal enchantment in the game! Period.

I played three games with this deck and I was nervous about the mana base due to me mostly just slapping it together. To my surprise, it worked rather well. I went 2-1 with this deck and put out several dragons before winning outright. Some issues I did find is my lack of responses to non-creature spells, so I am adding Stubborn Denial and Swan Song into the deck to stop the most oppressive of those spells. I also saw that the lack of lifegain and very little pillow fort cards made it easy to swing at me. Ghostly Prison is entering the mainboard and possibly Propaganda if need be. Additionally, I would like to keep the dragon count to at least 20 dragons and probably no more than 25. Here are a list of the changes made:

Additions:

Whip of Erebos: Life gain is important, especially when your running as many shocks as this deck is running.

Courser of Kruphix: Lifegain and Land grab help. The GG is a concern. It will be on watch.

Surrak Dragonclaw: An additional anti-blue card that is mostly in here for the trample.

Teneb, the Harvester: Recursion is vital at times and a 6/6 with a mana ability that can gain you another dragon is always welcomed.

Dragonlord Kolaghan: haste on a stick is great! Haste on a 6/5 dragon is golden. ;)

Authority of the Consuls: opposing early attacks while gaining life from those creatures an opponent plays is helpful, especially if the deck has a slow start.

Ghostly Prison: oppressing the opponents has to happen.

Stubborn Denial, Swan Song: Countering the important spells, period.

Green Sun's Zenith: a strong tutor that gets those important green creatures down early.

Removed:

Commander's Sphere: Looking in another direction with my ramp package.

Territorial Hellkite, Thunderbreak Regent and Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury: All three were removed for not providing enough to the overall function and direction of the deck. thankfully, they don't hurt the wallet too much so, it was an easy move to make.

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben: moving to the sideboard for more 1 v 1 matchups that look to control the board-state more.

Elemental Bond: I feel I have enough draw and this enchantment just doesn't provide enough.

Crucible of Fire: cute card, but the dragons in this deck are big enough for me.

Terminate: Switching out for counter spells instead.

Sarkhan Vol: A tough choice, but I feel the life gain from Whip of Erebos was better for the deck as a whole.
