Maybeboard

What happens when some of your favorite effects depend upon combat damage to a player, but you get tired of constantly having to deal with all those pesky defending creatures? The answer is, you build an unblockable deck.

About 2/3 of these creatures either have (Invisible Stalker) or can gift (Sun Quan, Lord of Wu) some kind of super-evasion like Fear, Intimidate, Shadow, Horsemanship, or outright unblockability. And what do you do when you're certain that your attacks will land? Ninjutsu is a start. Silent-Blade Oni is the best example. And there's also the inclusion of the best combat-damage equipment you can find, like Quietus Spike, Elbrus, the Binding Blade  , and the classic swords (Sword of Fire and Ice).

One of the things I like about this deck is that it appears non-threatening. And though your board is usually wide open, your opponents will instead focus on others players who have a more dominant board state. Unless they themselves need an easy target for their own combat damage effect. So yes, you'll be weak, but you'll be left alone. Maybe even until you're one of the last 2 or 3 players. And then you'll strike hard and win with amusing shenanigans.

Once your opponents figure out your schemes, they'll start to save a few more removal spells for you, which is why it's also necessary to include haste effect cards like Fervor, Leyline of Anticipation, Hall of the Bandit Lord, Lightning Greaves, and Swiftfoot Boots.

Marchesa, the Black Rose is the commander mostly because of her colors, but dethrone is a good political mechanic. And because your creatures can safely attack the player with the most life and get their counters without dying, you can follow up with Damnation and it ends up being even better than a Cyclonic Rift. So, with those tricks, Marchesa ends up being the best-suited Grixis commander for an unblockable deck. And because she isn't OP, opponents tend not to waste removal on her.

A few of my favorite ways to quickly bring a commander game to a close:
1) Give Phage the Untouchable haste and unblockability.
2) Give Master of Cruelties unblockability, then ping with Staff of Nin.
3) Attack with Blighted Agent or a creature with Grafted Exoskeleton equipped, then cast Hatred.

Full disclosure, this is NOT a competitive deck. It will win enough, but not all the time. The point is that it's tons of fun no matter whether you win or lose. And in casual commander, that's what I believe everyone should want. As always, upvote if you're so inclined. And your suggestions are welcome in the comments.
