After initial experimentation with The Scarab God as a zombie tribal commander, in the end, it turned out that the deck would be more unique with a different commander as The Scarab God steered towards more control and reanimation, straying away from the zombie tribal theme. With that in mind, the deck was transformed to give it a wider range of options in the synergy of the cards by including white with Varina, Lich Queen.

Apart from the usual tribal strategy of going wide and dealing lethal damage, combo synergies were also included to allow the player to choose which method of attack was best for each situation. The "Lord of Labor" was built upon the idea that there's no "best" win-con that would work for every situation. Instead the player would be able to craft their own with a multitude of options during gameplay to explore and continuously change the win con's based on board state, combo pieces, and the end goal.

Various Combos Include:

Phyrexian Altar + Relentless Dead / Gravecrawler + Diregraf Captain / etc... = INFINITE DAMAGE

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion = INFINITE DAMAGE

Phyrexian Altar + Rooftop Storm + Gravecrawler = INFINITE MANA OF ANY COLOR

Havengul Lich + Phyrexian Altar + Rooftop Storm + Graveyard Zombie Target = INFINITE ETB / CAST EFFECTS

Havengul Lich + Rooftop Storm + Sidisi, Undead Vizier = TUTOR FOR 1 MANA EACH TIME AND CAST ZOMBIES FOR FREE

Varina, Lich Queen + Archfiend of Ifnir = ONE-SIDED "BOARDWIPE"

Zombie Master + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth = UNBLOCKABLE CREEPS
