Kykar, Wind's Fury is a versatile commander that can create a lot of advantage by being either a source of mana or by creating an army of bodies to take down opponents quickly. The deck features a heavy theme of fast mana and rituals to ramp out kykar as quickly as possible and start getting the deck's engine going generally on turn three. Once Kykar is in play he can be chained with cheap spells to generate spirits that can be sacrificed for red mana, or built up to create lethal board states quickly. Because kykar cares about casting non-creature spells the deck features very little of them, but outside of that the deck is not restricted to a single theme and can gain advantage using a variety of permanents and spells. This deck is not overly controlling, instead choosing to generate a ton of advantage and leverage removal to proactively remove threats and protect its own engines. The deck typically wins through Aetherflux Reservoir, or through combat.

Because creature spells do not trigger Kykar each creature needs to be an engine of its own. Birgi, God of Storytelling   produces additional mana for casting spells, decreasing the reliance on sacrificing the spirits. The back side can be used as card advantage and is not a creature spell. Birgi, God of Storytelling + Mystic Forge + Sensei's Divining Top generates infinite mana. Curiosity Crafter is a powerful draw engine that also grants no maximum hand size. Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain is a draw engine that can create a ton of value. Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain + Mystic Forge + Sensei's Divining Top gives you infinite card draw of you have infinite mana. The Locust God nearly impossible to completely remove and can creature an army on his own.

While Planeswalkers are not generally good in commander, Kykar offers decent protection with his army of flying bodies. Jace, Wielder of Mysteries Acts as a safety valve if the decks draw engines get out of control. Teferi, Master of Time a miniature win condition on his own. Teferi can come down, protect himself, create card advantage, and his finisher is Time Stretch

Kykar utilizes a variety of sorceries to ramp, draw cards, and occasionally find answers to different situations. Gamble high risk high reward tutor that is very efficient. Ponder and Preordain cantrips that can manipulate the top of the library and offer card selection and replace themselves. Treasure Cruise has a steep cost, but can draw three cards for one or two mana. Winds of Abandon can be used in a pinch to remove a problem or overloaded to wipe the board.

Instants provide Kykar with a flexible backbone and help the deck pivot between strategies and protect its key cards. Fierce Guardianship free as long as Kykar is in play. Pact of Negation no cost up front to counter a key card or protect the deck when it's going off. Brainstorm a cantrip that offers decent card selection. Enlightened Tutor an efficient tutor that can search up a lot of the decks win conditions. Path to Exile Swords to Plowshares cheap and effective creature removal. Arcane Denial a counterspell that does not hurt your tempo as much as most. Battle Hymn a huge ritual that can generate a ton of mana. Cyclonic Rift can be used to bounce a problem permanent or overloaded to be one of the most backbreaking board wipes.

Enchantments

There are only a few enchantments, but the ones I do run a few that help accelerate the game plan. Possibility Storm I'm not a fan of chaos cards, but this one is amazing. Kykar, Wind's Fury + Possibility Storm allows 2 kykar triggers for each non-creature spell cast, can lead to a lot of positive trades if the spells cast into it are low cmc, and it pretty much shuts down counter spells. Cathars' Crusade makes all of our creatures big in a hurry. There's enough token generation to make this a great card. Storm the Vault   canproduce treasures that can be turned into mana but mainly used to flip into a land that's Tolarian Academy essentially. Whirlwind of Thought great card draw engine that cares about all the same cards as kykar. Shared Animosity a finisher card that takes a critical mass of small tokens and turns them into a deadly force. Soothsaying deck manipulation for a cheap cost. Reusable. Teferi's ageless incite turns all of the card draw engines in the deck into massive gains, especially Brainstorm. Mystic Remora great to keep on the table for a couple of turns, it draw more cards than you would think it would. Underworld Breach for those occasions where the deck had run out of gas, can use it to get a massive surge of spells and potentially end the game. Jeskai Ascendancy lets you loot for doing the things kykar wants you to do and makes your board powerful quickly. Impact Tremors consistent source of damage that provides amazing valor given the number of tokens this deck generates. Leyline of Anticipation a lot of cards in this deck are not instant speed so this lets the deck be more surprising and spontaneous, allowing the combos to come out of nowhere.

Artifacts

Besides instants and sorceries, artifacts are the most prevalent permanent type in the deck. There are a ton of mana rocks, despite kykar being able to sacrifice spirits for mana the deck still wants to have acceleration to keep up, and wants to be casting multiple spells per turn. Aetherflux Reservoir is an alternative win condition that can take out an opponent at instant speed, this deck can cast a mind numbing amount of spells in one turn, especially with the help of Possibility Storm. Signets and talismans, Mind Stone and Sol Ring low cost mana rocks that accelerate the deck into getting kykar out on turn 2 or 3. Chromatic Lantern great at fixing the mana and can produce a mana of any color. Thran Dynamo makes a decent about of mana for the investment. Lightning Greaves targeted protection for kykar that's decentbecause it costs 0 to equip. Bident of Thassa generates a ton of card draw with the flying spirit army. Skullclamp amazing card draw engine, it does eat the token strategy, but the net gain from that is worthy. Manifold Key untaps mana rocks and can help kykar get through. Idol of Oblivion this deck consistently produces tokens every turn, making this a free draw spell. The Magic Mirror generally doesn't cost the full amount to cast and provides immediate benefit of no maximum hand size, it can get out of hand with proliferate. Isochron septer + Dramatic reversal if combined with any 2 cost mana rock gives you the potential for infinite mana

Instants and sorceries

This deck runs a lot of Instants and sorceries, mostly to draw cards, deal with threats, and protect the board. Earthquake most of the important creatures and tokens have flying, so this is a great card for this deck. Bond of incite Pull from the Deep Mystic Retrieval spell recursion is an important aspect of the deck, this gets back key spells that have been used. Izzet Charm potential counter spell that can also loot. Boros Charm indestructible to the whole team or soluble strike when it's deadly. Benevolent Offering a sleeper card for this deck, in a multiplayer match this is a political card that produces 4 spirits with kykar and averages more than 10 life gained; the best part is that you don't have to select the take opponent to get the spirits and gain life. Brainstorm this deck has plenty of manipulation that makes this card very valuable. Rush of Knowledge with kykar this card is a 4 card draw, with the magic mirror it's 9. Decent overall. Vandalblast overload to take out all mama rocks. Battle Hymn a bit situational but can reliably generate a ton of mana. Preordain Ponder Opt card draw and selection all in one. Windfall decent card that can trade a spent hand for the number of cards in the opponent's hand who has the most; this card with narset is just silly. Gitaxian Probe free card draw and info about an opponent's hand. Approach of the Second Sun alternate won condition that this deck can easily pull off. Chaos Warp can be used to remove a threat, but mostly used to turn a token into a random permanent. Drawn from Dreams card draw and selection at a great price. Fierce Guardianship free counterspell. Repeated Reverberation mainly used to copy planeswalker abilities.

Overall

The deck is adaptable, fast, and can surprise any deck it comes up against. It draws a lot of cards, makes a lot of mana, and fields a lot of creatures very quickly despite having only a few creature cards in the deck.

Updates Add

Added in a few combo cards to help get the deck to a more consistent pace of winning was soon as possible. Added in a couple low cmc Planeswalkers to add to my pace, and the weatherlight since it is both a creature and not a creature spell.
