This is actually one of the first commander decks that I built, having originally bought the preconstructed one from the store. I guess you could say that this is the deck that got me interested in the commander format. The deck isn’t very complex, and relies on only a few simple mechanics. Cast things that make everyone draw more cards, and follow up by casting things that make drawing those cards hurt.

Your draw, my draw, everybody’s draw, doesn’t matter so long as it’s bringing the hurt. This deck is packed with stuff like Underworld Dreams , Fate Unraveler , Font of Mythos , Kami of the Crescent Moon , Dictate of Kruphix , and Spiteful Visions to increase card draw and punish it at the same time, which adds into Nekusar, the Mindrazer ’s ability. Try to get out as many of these as possible before casting something like Winds of Change , Windfall , or Forced Fruition .

There’s also things in the deck that make discarding hurt your opponents, to maximize all of that damage from them drawing and pitching several hands worth of cards. Liliana's Caress and Megrim have similar abilities in that respect, while Sangromancer gains you huge amounts of life with mass discards, and Waste Not gets you a little bit of everything.

As for defense in the deck, I put in a counterspell or two, Arcane Denial being one of them, to increase the card draw fun. To discourage the use of the many, many, many cards people will draw, I put in Painful Quandary and Forced Fruition so your opponents will think twice before casting a spell in an attempt to remove your stuff. There’s also a Notion Thief in there, which will assist in stealing the card-draw that your opponents would be getting.

Really the deck is pretty simple. Get Nekusar out ASAP, try to protect him as best as possible, get out all the other neato enchantments and creatures that play with card draw, and then make everyone pitch their hands a bazillion times a turn. I’m always looking for ways to improve this deck, as it looks pretty similar to many of the other Nekusar, the Mindrazer decks out there.
