Land Destruction won't work against decks that are fast like Elves, Stompy, Goblins, Affinity. When facing a fast deck or a deck where you feel LD won't work, sideboard out the LD spells. Without the LD the deck basically becomes MBC which is better at handling aggro strategies than LD is.

The reason there are only 3 Choking Sands in main instead of 4, is because of MBC.

General Tips:

  • Destroy untapped lands first.
  • Destroy lands in the first main phase. If they respond by floating mana go to the attack phase, forcing them to use it.
  • The deck takes the first mulligan well.
  • Everything in the deck costs 3 or less (expept Tendrils), consider cycling Barren Moor after you hit 3 lands.
  • Stinkweed can be used to get Chainer's Edict and Grim Harvest to the graveyard,or better selection of creatures for Grim Harvest or Threshold.
  • If they miss a land drop, or didn't play anything last turn consider casting Chittering Rats before LD (Black Timewalk on a stick.)
  • Blue causes the most problems, so I prefer to destroy blue producing mana first.
  • As a general rule Destroy lands first, deal with initial threats later. Sometimes you have to abandon this if you are geting too far behind.
  • If you can't destroy all lands focus on one color (blue :)
