the idea is if you Orris, Samite Champion someone of there upkeep they can only draw play a land, maybe activate a planeswalker if they are lucky and pass, effectively giving you an extra turn for no mana. this can be turned into a lock with cards like Undertaker or Sword of Light and Shadow. cards like Haunted Fengraf, Liliana, the Necromancer and Revive the Fallen can bring back orris a few times and let you chain together some extra turn skippings but they don't lock out your opponent completely. you win by attacking with a Shambling Vent, Gideon of the Trials or an Orris, Samite Champion with a sword on it. Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek can take away the threat they've been wanting to play while you have been going off with orris. Dimir Machinations is there primarily to search for orris but it can also grab any other three drops that you might need. The three drop slot has an unusually large amount of 1 offs for this reason. some good tutor targets could be Gideon of the Trials, Banishing Light, Sword of Light and Shadow, Liliana, the Last Hope or Liliana of the Veil.
