Sideboard

Death's Shadow in a Jund control shell. This deck is both aggressive, aiming to win by turn 4-5, as well as controlling, allowing you to go midrange if necessary.

This is a competitive Modern deck. The Death's Shadow s are finishers, not the central point of the deck.

Your early game should focus on hand destruction via Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek .

The mana base is slim, you will want to use your early fetches to get a basic forest and swamp, then a red source to lay down Blood Moon as early as turn 3.

This might put off your Liliana of the Veil until you can Traverse the Ulvenwald for a second basic swamp.

Once you have 4 lands, prioritize Bloodbraid Elf . The ideal cascade hits are Tarmogoyf or Managorger Hydra . Otherwise a Terminate , Kolaghan's Command , or Traverse the Ulvenwald with Delerium active are fine.

When it comes to self-damaging, with the goal of turning on your Death's Shadow , aim for about 9 life, putting them at 4/4 to at least trade with Hollow One .

Street Wraith and Mishra's Bauble are there to thin the deck and enable delirium as early as possible.

Your best Traverse the Ulvenwald target is Bloodbraid Elf .

Managorger Hydra itself trades with many threats, but with a decent board state, say a 4/5 Tarmogoyf , 4/4 Death's Shadow , 3/2 Bloodbraid Elf and a 5/5 Hydra, which is common and easy to establish on turn 5, you're hammering your opponent.

AGAINST HOLLOW ONE and DREDGE: Sideboard in 2 Leyline of the Void , and 2 Anger of the Gods . These combined with Blood Moon will put them off their mana base, eliminate Vengevine , Prized Amalgam and the like, and anything like Faithless Looting recursion. AotG will Exile away their small bodied creatures with Menace or recursion.

AGAINST LANTERN CONTROL: Sideboard in Leyline of the Void , and Ancient Grudge . You can often establish a strong board, then eliminate their Ensnaring Bridge to attack with lethal. The Leylines eliminate their artifact recursion. You might also consider adding Surgical Extraction to your sideboard to eliminate all Ensnaring Bridge from the game.

AGAINST HUMANS: Blood Moon , Terminate , and Anger of the Gods do the trick. This is a relatively easy match up for us.

AGAINST ELDERAZI: Tough match up, havent figured it out yet.

AGAINST TRON: If it's not Elderazi, we do fairly well with the core deck.

AGAINST BURN: Sideboard in Collective Brutality and Huntmaster of the Fells  . Be careful not to self-damage. Emphasize hand destruction and life gain, keeping yourself around 9 life with the Huntmasters.

AGAINST RWU CONTROL: Sideboard in Leyline of the Void , Godless Shrine , and all of your Lingering Souls . The leylines turn off Logic Knot , and Snapcaster Mage recursion. Frustrate them with spirit tokens, forcing them to use their board wipes, such as Supreme Verdict ; after which you start placing one or two threats on the board, such as Tarmogoyf and Death's Shadow . The point is to not empty your hand, but to always keep another threat in your hand, ready to replace what they have spent their few resources to remove.
