This list is theory crafting to find the most optimized build for Ghave that I can, and as such no limits such as budget are placed on card inclusions. This is a work in progress and needs to be tested.

The idea with this list is to focus on a few combos rather than have many available options as in the original list. Everything else is either stax/hate against other combo decks, removal against enemy stax and combo pieces, and ramp to get us to our combos faster. I've included the ones I believe to be the fastest, most efficient wins.

Plan A

The Incredible Hulk

Protean Hulk is our most efficient win despite the pieces needed artificially raise the average cmc. We never intend to actually cast them from hand. Here's our game plan:

  1. Play Pattern of Rebirth or Natural Order to cheat Hulk into play. It is important to have a sac outlet available to get Hulk rolling.
  2. Pull Karmic Guide and Viscera Seer from the deck (and Dryad Arbor because why the hell not?). Karmic brings back Hulk.
  3. Sac Hulk to Seer and grab Saffi Eriksdotter , Grand Abolisher , and Blood Artist / Corpse Knight .
  4. Now we have Blood Artist + Karmic Guide + Saffi Eriksdotter . Sac Saffi targeting Karmic then sac Karmic to Seer. Karmic comes back and brings back Saffi. Repeat so our artist can drain the board.

Plan B

Ghave's Messenger

Ashnod's Altar + Geralf's Messenger + Ghave, Guru of Spores

  1. Sac Geralf's Messenger to Ashnod's Altar . Messenger comes back with a +1/+1 counter and deals 2 damage.
  2. Use mana floated by altar so Ghave can remove the counter from Messenger.
  3. Rinse and repeat so Messenger kills the board.

Plan C

Infinite Tokens

We have a multiple ways to accomplish this if our first two plans aren't an option. We can use either Earthcraft or Ashnod's Altar with Young Wolf , Strangleroot Geist , or Good-Fortune Unicorn . If we use an undying creature, a Blood Artist effect wins the game. If we use the unicorn with Earthcraft or don't have a Blood Artist effect, we still have infinite tokens. That'll be game if no one top-decks a win con.
