Sideboard

An Adriana Melee turn things sideways deck with heavy legendary themes

It all really starts with Odric, Lunarch Marshal's ability to grant whatever is given to one creature to all of them. After that its just flat across the board ability granting. Avacyn, Angel of Hope gives indestructable, Masako the Humorless grants the unique ability to block even while tapped, and Urabrask the Hidden gives everyone haste. Heliod, God of the Sun grants vigilance. The Archetype of Aggression and Archetype of Courage both give enormous advantage in this combat focused deck. Angelic Skirmisher gives you a lot of different options for combat on each players turn, although in this deck it will almost always be lifelink due to the lack of other lifegain, other than True Conviction. Berserkers' Onslaught and Gratuitous Violence both double damage in slightly different ways and they do in fact stack. And Akroma's Memorial basically does it all.
Token generation is key in a combat matters deck and so I've tried to include a lot of the best token generators with the exception of the too busted Krenko, Mob Boss. Brimaz, King of Oreskos makes some of the best tokens in the deck because they have vigilance and are also made on blocking. One of the really strong defensive cards is Darien, King of Kjeldor, which strongly discourages folks from attempting to whittle down my life total. Feldon of the Third Path's tokens are different and very interesting, allowing my to bring back some of my fallen heroes, even if its just for a turn. Again Heliod, God of the Sun is a useful legend, allowing me to sink my mana into making a slew of little clerics. Hanweir Garrison and its flip side Hanweir, the Writhing Township are both excellent token creators like the Hero of Bladehold. Elspeth, Sun's Champion is another very efficient token generator and can double as an anthem if need be. Assemble the Legion is a good token generator thats not dependent upon anything other than time.
Extra combat phases are incredibly important to any deck that can hope to swing in for kills rather than just combo off on something, and in this deck I decided that I should combo off with infinite combat phases. Mainly I use the Aggravated Assault + Sword of Feast and Famine + Soltari Champion/Soltari Guerrillas/Soltari Visionary combo to achieve this goal. Coming short of infinite there's always cards like Aurelia, the Warleader, who gives me one each turn she swings. Hellkite Charger also works like another copy of Aggravated Assault, giving me as many combats as I have mana to pay for. Savage Beating is a one shot extra combat step, and a little extra damage if I need it. Waves of Aggression is a v fun card because of its Retrace ability, meaning that as long as i have lands to pitch, I can keep on swinging.
Anthems make killing everyone so much easier. This is why I chose Adriana, Captain of the Guard, who grants a bonus equivalent to the number of foes I try to take on at once. I decided to use my favorite enchantment, Day of Destiny, in this deck because it is a very powerful bonus for already powerful creatures, and it has truly helped shape the level of legendary involvement in this deck. During combat Agrus Kos, Wojek Veteran also gives a nice boost to my forces. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite is almost always an automatic include in any deck that can run her because not only does she make my creatures larger, but she shrinks, and frequently kills, my opponents'. The Spear of Heliod is a simple +1/+1 boost but it has the added bonus of killing anything that hits me once per round. As far as enchantments go, Dictate of Heliod is also a fantastic addition to almost any white deck. Glory of Warfare is different from the other anthems because its bonus depends on whose turn it is and the majority of the time it will be helping defend me from my enemies by boosting toughness. When looking for another +2/+2, a fantastic cycle of creatures comes to mind, and from it I've snagged Balefire Liege who, in addition to being an anthem, Lightning Helix's an opponent each time I cast a spell. The last +1/+1 comes from Soltari Champion who provides a small boost to those creatures that attack with it. One of the fantastic thing about the abilities that trigger on attack is that my creatures will get stronger and stronger the more combat phases I take.
