Welcome to the jungle

...and hail to Godfather Windgrace, King of the Jungle, maybe Bagheera's brother?!

This is a "mean" Version of Windgrace - with mass-Landdestruction. I play another more casual Soul of Windgrace Deck deck:https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/soul-of-katzchen/ so I decided to go for more powerful nonsense here!

Why I love fetchies

• graveyard food for Lord Windgrace "-3"

• double landfalltrigger f.e. Omnath, Locus of Rage, Lotus Cobra, Nissa, Vital Force and many more. Just one example: play f.e Verdant Catacombs, get a new land, -3 with windgrace, get Catacombs + other fetchland back in play, sac both: In result u made 6 landfalltriggers. Happens quite often.

• sac-trigger for The Gitrog Monster

• Multiple landdrops f.e. Azusa, Lost but Seeking and Crucible of Worlds / Ramunap Excavator - alwyas use all landdrops

• Shuffle effect for top manipulation: Oracle of Mul Daya, Courser of Kruphix, Radha, Heart of Keld, Sylvan Library

• fetch in instant speed - sometimes usefull for landfall-trigger

• Last but definatively not least: great mana fixing. Not only get shock-lands like Blood Crypt, other basic-type-lands like Canyon Slough / Sheltered Thicket or Smoldering Marsh / Cinder Glade work too. Can be really helpful sometimes for Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. Also not difficult to play Violent Ultimatum in turn 5 with a little ramp from my friend...

Other mentionable Synergies

• Dryad of the Ilysian Grove works great with Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle and Dread Presence. Same does Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth with Dread Presence. Especially good with Scapeshift

• Old-good The Gitrog Monster is crazy good with Windgrace (of course!). Discarding a land causes him to trigger so as Life from the Loam dredging also does. F.e. Discarding a land and using the draw from windgrace to dredge Loam brings multiple card draw - after this you can play Loam to get the best lands back and use the additional landfall with Gitrog - again fetchies shine here too. If you did not ramp early with Green Sun's Zenith for Dyrad Arbor, Gitrog is very often your target. Big bad frog demonstrates his power!

• Why playing 3 snow-lands? Counts as "other name" for Field of the Dead

• What to copy with Vesuva? Most funny target is Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle to shoot 6 dmg each mountain later in the game. Other good targets are Field of the Dead for big Zombie-Partytime or in some cases Bojuka Bog. Also to mention is copying a Bounce-land like Golgari Rot Farm and use 1 more landfall or other etb-effects like a Mountain for Valakut.

Cons of Fetchies and Hardtimes for the Lord

• 1 life to pay for fetching shouldn't be much in Commander, but there can be situations, where it matters (F.e. Ramunap + Azusa) - there are only two sources to get back some life: Courser of Kruphix and Dread Presence

• Tutor-Hate is a big problem in this deck! Most Ramp-Spells and fetchies struggle vs. cards like Aven Mindcensor or Opposition Agent

• Gaddock Teeg is a heavy threat, he blocks many important spells and most serious the Lord himself

• Draw-Hate like Narset, Parter of Veils shut off Lords + ability. This deck has some out of drawing cards without the wording "draw" (like flipped Nissa, Vastwood Seer   or Valakut Exploration - or even playing lands from the top of your library can help here.

• Fetching/shuffeling needs some time espacially in commander - therefore: Know your manabase well and know your sequencing to speed up your decisionmaking :)
