This is a modernized version of the Dragon's of Tarkir event deck (released end of may 2015) which has made some improvements without changing the win conditions. Theros is rotating out in the fall.

The main win condition of the deck is to beef Heir of the Wilds up with enchantment creatures and fatties. Thunderbreak Regent and Mistcutter Hydra are support win conditions, not the main win conditions. That's why there are only one of each included. Because of the "enter the field tapped" lands 6 green mana dorks are added to speed up the deck and to make up for any lost turns.

This events deck has received criticism (from mostly competitive standard only players) for appearing hastily constructed, not containing more Dragon's of Tarkir cards and for including mostly Theros cards which are rotating out this fall. Internet commentators have also argued that the lack of blue mana sources may make this deck stall out and therefore should become a red and green deck only.

Experienced magic the gathering players may have seen and recognized the competitive value of this deck in its original state, but may also admit that for individual people it's not complete in itself. It is also recognizable that this deck may have been constructed by experienced tournament winners whose decks are less about looks and more about winning. If so, that could explain the lack of thematic consistency.

However, this deck does give a good base for creating a modern deck and even a standard deck with a few changes.
