A fun project deck we came up with in our EDH playgroup. Started with Atla creating "green eggs" and running boars for "ham", I'm looking to make as many Dr. Seuss references as possible. It's been a good 20+ years since I read any Dr Seuss myself, so I would love suggestions on how to cut some of the filler for even more references. No budget, I'm considering making alters in photoshop to make the deck more on theme.

Also, I know the manabase is pretty hot garbage right now. More focused on memes. I would kinda like to have some basic lands so I can do some Dr. Seuss illustration alters for forests and plains and the grinch's mountain, but those may just have to be the dual lands.

*Pending the release/legality of the new Throne of Eldraine cards.

Dr. Seuss References so far:

Commander: Child of Alara - No color restrictions. And using an actual child for my children's deck commander seems fitting.

Green Eggs: Atla Palani, Nest Tender - literally the only card in MTG that makes green eggs

Ham: Ilharg, the Raze-Boar , End-Raze Forerunners , other random boars for curve filling

The Grinch: Willow Satyr . Literally steals opponents' Christmases.

Max the dog: Mowu, Loyal Companion . It's in the name.

Cats in Hats: Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith tutors for hats, Balan, Wandering Knight wants to wear all the hats, Brimaz, King of Oreskos is already wearing a hat. Keeper of Fables seemed fun, kinda on theme.

Hats: Had to go with Helmets here. Champion's Helm , Helm of the Host (added thing 1,2... reference) Horned Helm , Prowler's Helm , Skullclamp (bonus engine combo with Atla)

Kids in Cat in the hat: Curious Pair - the only children I could find in MTG besides Child of Alara without going unhinged.

Thing 1 & 2: Riku of Two Reflections - bonus ability to make duplicate things

Horton: Aggressive Mammoth - none of the elephants I found really fit Horton, but I decided if I was only going to run 1 it might as well be Aggressive.

Horton's Who's: All the mana elves (not going to lie, this is a cheap excuse to play ramp)

Fox in Socks: Vulpine Goliath , Silverchase Fox , Devilthorn Fox , Flutterfox . A bit of curve filler here. Vulpine is my favorite.

For socks I had to go with boots - Swiftfoot Boots and Trailblazer's Boots . I'm considering this a double reference for the Foot Book.

Oh the places you'll go: Journey to Nowhere , Journey of Discovery , Profound Journey , Otherworldly Journey , Golos, Tireless Pilgrim , Path to Exile

Red Fish/ Blue fish: Jori En, Ruin Diver - literally the closest thing I could find to a red fish. At least he satisfies both.

Sleep book: Sleep . not much else to say about that one

Arcane Encyclopedia , Emmessi Tome , Jalum Tome , Jayemdae Tome , Enlightened Tutor all fit the general children's book theme

Best for last: Chulane, Teller of Tales is Dr. Seuss himself.
