As soon as Proliferate changed to affect "every counter" rather than just one, I knew there was something special going on. But it wasn't until Volrath, the Shapestealer in Commander 2019 that things all came together.

Here's the deal: There are +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters, but there are also +1/+0 counters, +2/+0 Counters, +0/+2 counters, and +2/+2 counters. If you can manage to get all of them onto a single creature, then every use of proliferate will grant you +8/+7 (!).

Volrath can transform into anything with a counter, which for you should be basically everything. Transform into things at the perfect times and turn into the largest creature in the entire world.
