Introduction Show

This is a mono green combo deck that aims to assemble an impressive elfball mana engine early game into formidable Eldrazi Titans, infinite Temur Sabertooth/Cloudstone Curio loops, Walking Ballista pings, or Craterhoof Behemoth to win. There are four common ways to build around her with Elf tribal, stax, goodstuff, and high tide combo. This deck is a hybrid between good stuff and high tide combo which gives it a definite route to victory and a strong secondary plan. Barring the lucky turn four or five win, this build can consistently win by turn six to seven uninterrupted. The reason why I play Freyalise over other mono-green commander is due to her versatility in generating tokens/ramp, enchantment/artifact removal, as well as card draw to keep my engine going (which provides inevitability in the long game). This inherent advantage cannot be found in other mono green commanders.

Strengths and Weaknesses Show

Strengths:

• Resilient and fast (destroys slow starting decks that don't do anything impactful till turn five)
• Consistent and explosive
• Ability to rebound quickly from a boardwipe
• Creature toolbox allows the ability to deal with a variety of situations
• Strong early, mid, and late game
• Multiple paths to victory

Weaknesses:

• Stax and hatebear strategies (Linvala, Keeper of Silence shuts down the deck HARD)
• Fast combo (that wins on turn 2/3 uninterrupted aka tier 1 competitive decks)
• Wrath of God effects (I do run some Regrowth effects to mitigate the problem)
• Stranglehold/Aven Mindcensor effects (a huge portion of my deck has some kind of tutor effect and this just wrecks my plans HARD and force me to play fair)
• Bribery/Treachery effects (I do run Sylvan Safekeeper and Homeward Path to mitigate the problem)

Notable Inclusions Show

• Sylvan Safekeeper: Protects my fatties from steal effects and removals.

• Void Winnower: Keeps common wrath effects in check as well as lock out majority of the interactions when I'm comboing off.

• Doubling Season: Gives me inevitability and the stamina to recover from a board wipe. It also lets me draw my entire library with infinite mana to win when Freyalise is in my command zone.

• Walking Ballista: Acts as an early/mid game creature removal that grows bigger every turn as well as an infinite mana combo finisher. It also synergies with Doubling Season.

• Birthing Pod: My curve covers a continuous range which can be fully abused by it. I can basically refresh my graveyard and restart my chain anytime by podding Kozilek. It is also broken with Paradox Engine.

• Cloudstone Curio/Temur Sabertooth: The ability to bounce creatures back to get their cast/ETB triggers is paramount to maximizing value towards my path to victory.

Notable Exclusions Show

• Greater Good: Fantastic card draw mid to late game but feels like a win more. Needs more playtesting.

• Heritage Druid: Was initially in the list before Nettle Sentinel was removed. Earthcraft is a much better card.

• Worldly Tutor: Does not help when I am comboing off as I want to tutor for a creature to my hand instead of top of library.

• Oblivion Stone: Often is a dead card as I am usually the one having an advantageous board state. Useful in a wrath heavy meta where I am often behind.

• Summoner's Pact/Uncage the Menagerie: Other tutors that I might include.

• Song of the Dryads: Often is ineffective and gets removed almost immediately due to high number of enchantment removals in the meta.

• Glimpse of Nature/Harmonize: Card draw is always good.

• Kamahl, Fist of Krosa: Another infinite mana sink but I have craterhoof for now which gets the job done.

• Slate of Ancestry: More card draw and useful when comboing off.

• Genesis Wave/Genesis Hydra: This is a win more in my build.

• Bane of Progress: Useful in a artifact/enchantment heavy meta.

• Praetor's Counsel: Gives inevitability late game however this deck oftens win early to mid game that this card serves no purpose.

• Vizier of the Menagerie: Excellent card that needs to be in the deck for testing.

• Tajuru Preserver: If All Is Dust and Grave Pact effects are common I'll include this in the deck.

• Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger: Draws too much hate, doesn't impact the board immediately, only great early game with Natural Order.

• Scavenging Ooze: Useful and will probably go back in my deck in the future when graveyard strategies become more common.

• Quest for Renewal: Needs more testing.

• Oracle of Mul Daya: I realized that revealing information to my opponents is not great politically especially if I'm going to draw into a combo piece or big threat.

• Utopia Sprawl: Additional mana ramp and great in opening hand. Will be in my future inclusions for more competitive meta.

• Nettle Sentinel: Pretty much only useful as an infinite mana combo piece with cloudstone curio and heritage druid. Often a dead card with no contributions to further my board.

• Omnath, locust of mana: Great ramp if it lasts for a couple of turns. Unfortunately it is a removal magnet and does not stick around long for the payout.

• Noxious Revival/Regrowth: Eternal witness alone should be more than enough but more will be considered if my meta becomes more wrath/removal heavy.

• Thousand-Year Elixir: A strong contender to a spot in my deck.

• Prowling Serpopard: Will include if blue becomes popular again in my meta.

• Terastodon/Woodfall Primus: Eldrazi titans should be more than enough at this point.

• Magus of the Candelabra/Candelabra of Tawnos: Another redundant piece of more mana generation.

• Selvala, Heart of the Wilds: Contrary to popular beliefs, if I can generate an absurd mana off this guy, I am probably capable of already producing large amount of mana and should already be winning at that point. I need mana dorks that can produce mana without any difficult baggage. There are too many stipulations around this guy to warrant its inclusion.

Generating Infinite Mana Show

The deck essentially aims to draw a large amount of cards off Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury/Regal Force/Shamanic Revelation to chain into assembling an infinite mana combo to win via a plethora of different ways described below. I run a high density and redundancy of infinite mana combo pieces in order to increase my chance of assembling them the turn I go off. For all purposes of simplifying the combo explanation, I will use Priest of Titania as an example for mana dorks that have the capability of producing multiple mana (Wirewood Channeler/Elvish Archdruid/Karametra's Acolyte/Voyaging Satyr/Arbor Elf). The following are ways to generate infinite mana:

• Priest of Titania + Umbral Mantle = Infinite as long as it can produce . This combo also gives all my creatures infinite power and toughness (can win on the spot if opponents do not have sufficient blockers).

• Priest of Titania + Sword of the Paruns = Infinite as long as it can produce

• Priest of Titania + Staff of Domination = Infinite and draw as long as it can produce (instant win).

• Paradox Engine + Temur Sabertooth + mana dork(s) + 1 creature to bounce = Infinite as long as mana dork(s) can tap for at least more than the bounced creature's cmc (the bounced creature cannot be part of the mana dorks). This combo also works with Cloudstone Curio in place of Temur Sabertooth.

• Argothian Elder + Maze of Ith + another land = Infinite mana to be used at instant speed (use Winding Canyons or with Walking Ballista in play)

• Argothian Elder + Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx + Wirewood Lodge = Infinite mana (or land that can produce instead of Nykthos)

• Priest of Titania + Temur Sabertooth + Wirewood Symbiote + 1 cmc elf like Boreal Druid = Infinite as long as PoT can produce (draw entire library only with Elvish Visionary if PoT can only produce 5 mana; 6 mana is required to generate infinite for 2 cmc elf). This combo also works with Cloudstone Curio in place of Temur Sabertooth.

The following is an explanation of the Priest of Titania + Temur Sabertooth + Wirewood Symbiote combo with Priest of Titania capable of producing :

• Tap Priest of Titania for
• Use Wirewood Symbiote's ability to return another elf (let's use Boreal Druid as an example) to hand and untap Priest of Titania
• Spend to cast Boreal Druid ( floating)
• Tap Priest of Titania for ( floating)
• Spend to activate Temur Sabertooth's ability, returning Wirewood Symbiote to hand ( floating)
• Spend to cast Wirewood Symbiote ( floating)
• Use Wirewood Symbiote's ability to return Boreal Druid to hand and untap Priest of Titania
• Spend to cast Boreal Druid ( floating)
• Tap Priest of Titania for (total of floating)
• The above steps will net 1 extra per loop. Rinse and repeat to generate infinite

Path to Victory Show

With the infinite mana generated and the absence of immediate payout cards in play to win the game, the following cards are common paths to victory:

• Tooth and Nail = Grab Temur Sabertooth + Eternal Witness putting TnN back in hand. Cast TnN again grabbing Walking Ballista which will immediately die. Bounce E.Wit back to hand with Sabertooth in order to grab ballista and cast it to win.

• Primal Command = Grab Walking Ballista to win. If Walking Ballista is exiled, grab Eternal Witness putting PC back in hand. Cast PC putting Temur Sabertooth into play. You can now infinitely bounce Eternal Witness to grab all the creatures to assemble a winning combo. You can also shuffle all noncreature permanents into everyone's library (or gain infinite life) with Temur Sabertooth + eternal witness + primal command to limit interaction before getting ballista.

• Chord of Calling = Grab Eternal Witness putting CoC back in hand. Cast CoC putting Temur Sabertooth into play. You can now infinitely bounce Eternal Witness to grab all the creatures to assemble a winning combo.

• Eye of Ugin = Grab Walking Ballista to win.

• Doubling Season = Only works if Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury is in the command zone. Draw entire library with her ultimate by recasting her over and over again (note that this also works to a certain extent in absence of infinite mana with Paradox Engine + non-land mana generators producing at least and drawing into more mana dorks to continue the drawing chain)

Victory Payout Show

With infinite mana I can win immediately with Walking Ballista by pinging everyone to death. If Walking Ballista is exiled, I can win with Temur Sabertooth/Cloudstone Curio and the following:

• Craterhoof Behemoth = Infinite trample damage.

• Hornet Queen = Infinite tokens (needs Akroma's Memorial for the haste effect to win that turn).

• Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger = Exile all other players' permanents.

Miscellaneous Combos Show

The following are miscellaneous combos that helps with the overall gameplan:

• Doubling Season + Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury/Hornet Queen/Walking Ballista = Doubles token generation and enables immediate activation of Freyalise ultimate upon casting/Army of flying insect tokens/Doubles the counters put on Ballista.

• Survival of the Fittest + = Cycles the discarded creature back to library by first tutoring for Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and then pitching it to search for the creature you are looking for.

• Craterhoof Behemoth + Natural Order = Massive amount of trample damage for a mere 4 mana (normally game ending).

• Wirewood Symbiote + Reclamation Sage/Elvish Visionary = Extra elf etb triggers per turn.

• Tooth and Nail into Hornet Queen + Regal Force = Draw at least 6 cards (10 cards with Doubling Season).

• Tooth and Nail into Temur Sabertooth + Wirewood Symbiote if I have a mana dork like Priest of Titania that can tap for as well as another 2 cmc or less elf to bounce back to hand with TS = Infinite combo.

• Survival of the Fittest/Fauna Shaman + Kozilek, Butcher of Truth = Recycle fallen creatures and also save my graveyard from getting exiled.

• Earthcraft + Paradox Engine = Creature storm engine (essentially turns paradox engine into Omniscience).

• Birthing Pod + Paradox Engine = Pod activation, cast creatures, untap pod, and repeat (gets even more broken with Cloudstone Curio.

My build is based around a 75% meta where aggro/combo strategies are common. The most important thing to take note while piloting this deck is to make sure to have a hand that can at least lead to a turn 3 Freyalise. Aggressive mulligan is strongly encouraged in order to maximize chance of an explosive start. Activating Freyalise's ultimate by turn 4/5 often generates 4 to 6 cards and should be enough to pull me ahead of the game into a win that turn or the next. To adapt to a cEDH meta, cards like Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Concordant Crossroads, Carpet of Flowers, Dosan the Falling Leaf, Manglehorn. Hall of Gemstone, Freyalise's Winds, and Choke can be integrated into the deck while all other eldrazis but Kozilek can be replaced with more tutors and combo protection.
