This is a straightforward mono-black control list intended to be high power. While some Chainer decks are more combo-oriented, this deck is built to control the game with discard effects, boardwipes, and single target removal, then drop Chainer in the mid-late game to secure the win via attrition or combo.

Noteworthy Synergies Show

This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all synergies within the deck, but it is a brief rundown of what I keep in mind while playing the deck.

• K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth + Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Kokusho, the Evening Star + sac outlet + Chainer, Dementia Master for a loop to win.

• K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth + Vilis, Broker of Blood to freely draw cards for no mana.

• Dauthi Voidwalker + removal/discard effects/boardwipes. Chainer can bring him back to keep casting cards with void counters; works even better with Lightning Greaves to give him haste for multiple casts in a single turn.

• Reanimate + Vilis, Broker of Blood in the graveyard to draw 8 cards for 1 black mana

• Candelabra of Tawnos + swamp doublers, Cabal Coffers, or Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
